Eternal Return 2022
 

Eternal Return is an ode to the remembrance of the photographs spectral character, of its relation to the past that survives itself.

The unique photograms within this book are used to illustrate the impact and significance of heirlooms; objects passed down from generation to generation.

Despite having no heirlooms of her own, Nia has found ornaments and objects that replicate and symbolise the heirlooms she could have had, but never did. Interested in the possibility of ‘capturing the aura and essence’ of these objects, Nia plays on what that might have been through a visualising of her mother's memories and recollection. These photograms bear witness to that which cannot come to light.
